On Stage’s ballet students have been hard at work learning their new syllabus and perfecting their technique – all in preparation for their upcoming Society of Russian Ballet examinations!

Detailed information/schedules has been emailed out to all exam families, but here is the basic run-down of important dates:

Nov. 7th – exam fees due
Jan. 14th-15th – mock exams
Jan. 23rd – 25th – SRB exam dates

Remember that all exam candidates will need a new pair of ballet shoes, a clean black bodysuit, and tidy ballet tights (with no holes or runs!). Hair needs to be pulled back into a ballet bun too, of course!

WOW – what a week it’s been! Hard to believe that in the past 7 days On Stage dancers have shot a dance scene for a music video (choreographed by Ms. Meghan!), dazzled the crowds at the Savour Stratford kick-off, and been accepted into Ballet Jorgen‘s annual professional Nutcracker performance! Not too sure how the kids still have enough energy for class – but they do! Must be all the fun we’re having at the studio this season

All of the events listed above have something in common – they involve dancing OUTSIDE of the studio walls. After all, one of the best parts of dancing is getting out in front of an audience and performing! Most dance studios offer only an annual end-of-the-year recital as a performance opportunity, but at On Stage we always go above and beyond. This year our dancers will be dancing & entertaining crowds at community festivals, parades, senior citizen residences, schools, and more. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?!?
